Funny name, serious business
We make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to provide clean water and help build toilets for the billions of people who lack proper access. So far, we’ve contributed over $18 million AUD (roughly $12.5 million USD) to fund sanitation projects around the globe. Basically, we’re really good at doing good.
With hubs in Australia, the Philippines, China, the US, UK and Europe, our amazing team of 200+ work to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next couple of years, we’re hoping to increase our annual donation tenfold to get us closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation services.
A bit about the role
We’re on the lookout for a detail-loving, spreadsheet-hugging Payroll Accountant to join our mighty Number Scrunchers team! You’ll play a key role in making sure our US and PH crew members are paid accurately and on time—every time. This role is all about keeping things humming smoothly in payroll land, supporting onboarding, compliance, terminations, and even getting stuck into system improvements alongside our P&C and Legal teams. You’ll report to our Financial Accountant - Payroll Lead and work closely with folks across the business to help us level up our global payroll processes.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering—yes, we really are a toilet paper company that does good. We donate 50% of our profits to help ensure everyone has access to clean water and a toilet. So when you’re sorting out payroll, you're also helping change the world. Cool, right?
Psst! We’re wrapping up applications for this role on Tuesday 3rd June, so don’t leave it too late to throw your hat in the ring. We’ll be in touch with candidates once applications close, thanks for hanging tight until then!
If you worked here this past month here are some things you might have been involved in
- Partnered with our P&C team to smooth out onboarding for a new teammate in the US (and made sure their paperwork didn’t turn into a paper jam).
- Finalised a payroll run with our external partner and double-checked that everyone was paid on time and without a hitch.
- Drafted an SOP with our Finance teams and the People and Culture team to lock in our control processes and approval flow—goodbye chaos, hello clarity.
- Helped a teammate make sense of their 401K contributions and gave them peace of mind that things were tracking correctly.
- Collaborated with Legal to better understand the ins and outs of our hub model and how it affects payroll compliance across regions.
- Did a deep dive into potential payroll platforms that could scale with our growing global team (hello, future-proofing).
- Managed payroll entries in NetSuite with hawk-like attention to detail, making sure everything reconciled beautifully.
Let’s talk about you
You’re someone who takes pride in precision. You know your way around payroll processes and systems (ADP, Celergo or NetSuite? Even better!), and you’ve got a knack for keeping things organised even when the requests are flying in from all directions. You ask smart questions, suggest process improvements, and can juggle compliance with care. You're the type to spot a discrepancy before it causes trouble and calmly sort it out like a pro.
You enjoy working across teams, collaborating with P&C, Legal and Finance like it’s second nature. You're curious, proactive, and always looking for ways to streamline, simplify, and sharpen the way we do things. You're happy owning your space but you’re also not afraid to say, “Hey, I need a hand.”
Most importantly, you're keen to do meaningful work, surrounded by passionate people, at a company that gives a crap.
You give a crap
Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!
Why should you work with us?
First off, as a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards of social and environmental impact. With our most recent score of 125.5 we’re in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world.
We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that’s why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare for our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right).
Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that our team is really proud (95%) to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn’t be more proud of that.
Have you made it this far?
If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.
