Job Description:

WideOrbit is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer who is enthusiastic about supporting internal WideOrbit employees nationwide. This person will thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace automation and efficiency. If you are someone with a customer service focus and desire to learn, this may be the role for you.

Here is what success will look like: 

  • Provide technical support to users via email, IM, phone, video, screen share, and remote access.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, account, connectivity, and workflow issues.
  • Onboard new hires including hardware configuration, account creation, and orientation.
  • Admin patch management, antivirus, email security, MFA, SSO, and MDM.
  • Reference, update, and build detailed knowledge articles base both internal IT and user facing.
  • Triage support requests and work with other IT teams including server, network, and security engineers.
  • Collaborate with remote teammates in highly responsive and cooperative environment.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives such as org wide software deployments.

 To thrive in this role, we’re looking for: 

  • 3+ years in a hands-on IT role supporting end users via ticketing system.
  • Bonus points for relevant degrees or IT certifications (A+, Network+, MCSA, HDI-SCA, ITIL, etc.)
  • Ability to support varied hardware and software issues and research and craft resolutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory/Entra ID, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Exchange.
  • Bonus points for experience with macOS, Intune, Autopilot, batch or PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with common networking concepts including IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, VPN and Wi-Fi.
  • Quick learner who is self-motivated and can work autonomously.
  • Calm, professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A desire to embrace automation to solve business problems and inefficiencies.
  • A desire to embrace cybersecurity as a core principle of service.

Location:

This position will be hybrid and based in our New York City, office (HQ), which is located just south of Grand Central at 100 Park Avenue. Preferably up to three days a week in office for onsite meetings, company events, etc.

Pay Range: 

$67,000 - $101,000

Compensation:

The compensation range listed, and general description of other compensation and benefits will apply to this position.  Various factors are considered to determine compensation ranges including market data, location, experience, qualifications, and skills. WideOrbit reserves the right to pay more or less than the salary and benefit information posted.
