
Interior Designer II

As an Interior Designer II with 6 - 10 years of experience, you will lead and manage interior design projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with clients, project teams, and vendors to ensure that design solutions are creative and functional, aligning with project goals and client expectations. This role requires strong design leadership, project management skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead interior design projects, overseeing the design process from initial concept to final implementation. Develop and refine design concepts, space plans, and material selections.
- Client Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs, managing expectations, and delivering design solutions that meet their objectives. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring design projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with project teams to ensure seamless execution of design plans.
- Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior designers and interns. Offer feedback, assist with their professional development, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Vendor Coordination: Source, select, and procure materials, furnishings, and finishes. Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality control and timely product delivery.
- Site Oversight: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, assess project conditions, and address design or construction issues. Ensure that design implementation aligns with project goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to integrate interior design solutions with overall project objectives. Foster effective communication and collaboration across project teams.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all project documentation.
- Presentation: Develop and deliver compelling design presentations to clients and stakeholders. Effectively communicate design concepts, project progress, and design rationale.
- Versatility: Adapting to various roles within a project, whether in leadership or support, while consistently performing at a high level. Proactively handles tasks beyond the primary scope and adjusts to changing priorities to ensure project success, team collaboration, and firm excellence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: 6-10 years of professional experience in interior design, with a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering a range of projects.
- Certifications/Licensure: NCIDQ or desired to be certified, LEED or WELL AP highly regarded.
- Design Skills: Advanced proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. Expertise in 3D modeling and rendering is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of the furniture procurement process and the ability to complete furniture specifications package.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects, manage client relationships, and adhere to deadlines and budgets.
- Creativity: Exceptional design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics, spatial arrangement, and attention to detail. Ability to develop innovative and practical design solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage project workflows efficiently.
- Leadership: Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building skills.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
