
BIM Manager

We have an immediate opening for a BIM Manager in our Darien office to support our architecture and engineering groups. This person, along with our other BIM Managers, will be responsible for managing and coordinating all BIM-related processes and procedures. They will have an interest in working in a creative and dynamic environment where we solve client problems through world-class design. They will be self-directed, flexible, and able to handle complex schedules and priorities. The BIM Manager will be inquisitive, always looking for ways to improve our processes rather than just implementing the status quo.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train staff in BIM standards and best practices (Architectural, Interiors, MEP, Structural).
- Enhance our BIM standards and processes by working with department BIM leaders.
- Automate tasks and augment design and documentation processes with Dynamo, coding, and AI tools.
- Assist project teams with complex Revit setup and modeling requirements.
- Troubleshoot Revit project issues.
- Manage the Revit detail and family library and build custom Revit content.
- Implement BIM/VDC processes throughout the project lifecycle such as visualization, modeling, virtual mock-ups, model-based take-offs and estimating, 3D clash coordination, logistics, and 4D staging diagrams.
- Research and develop new ways to utilize BIM to enhance projects through various stages of design and construction.
- Optional – Join our drone team as a pilot for project photography and photogrammetry.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Drafting, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ Revit experience
- Passion for advancing Building Information Modeling (BIM) & Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technology to enhance design & construction workflows
- Understanding of design and construction processes
- Knowledge of COBie standards
- Ability to proactively support staff with patience and a positive attitude
- Detail oriented, self-motived and able to produce high quality work with minimal oversite in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Computer Programs:
- BIM/Clash Coordination (Revit, ACC/BIM360, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
- PDF Editing (Bluebeam)
- Computational BIM (Dynamo, Scripting)
- 3D Modeling (Rhino, 3ds Max)
- Image/Animation Editing (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere)
- Reality Capture (ReCap)
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
