
Construction Management Intern - Summer 2027

Wight & Company is currently looking for a summer intern to work in our Construction Management group. Construction interns have opportunity to work with the construction team on projects and to collaborate with Wight’s architects and engineers.
Wight & Company has one of the most robust Summer Intern programs in the industry! Construction Management interns have the opportunity to work on-site at one of our projects in the Chicagoland area. There are also numerous opportunities to network with professionals and interns from all the various departments at Wight. The relationships forged during an internship can last the duration of a career!
Key Responsibilities:
- Shadow superintendents and document on-site progress
- Work with Project Managers in preparing project estimates, schedules, contracts and other project-specific managerial tasks
- Attend team and client meetings in-house and on-site for construction projects, representing Wight & Company
- Develop and maintain strong client relations
Requirements:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Construction Management or related field
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job site(s) in the Chicagoland area
- Basic understanding of construction materials and methods
- Good organization and computer skills
- Openness to learn and have fun
Salary Range: $20-$25/hr. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
