GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Email & SMS Marketing Manager owns the development and deployment of all email, SMS, and app push campaigns—covering strategic alignment, concepting, programming, audience segmentation, testing, scheduling, transactional support, and performance analysis. Reporting to the Director of Email & SMS Marketing, this role partners closely with Creative to maintain brand integrity and maximize conversion.
This manager operates independently in a fast-moving, test-and-learn environment. They collaborate directly with the Director on channel strategy and manage the day-to-day relationship with our external agency for campaign execution. They ensure campaigns follow best practices, meet conversion and engagement KPIs, and deliver the right message to the right person at the right time.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end-to-end execution of email, SMS, and app push campaigns aligned with the marketing calendar.
- Write creative briefs, manage content, and oversee QA for accurate, on-brand delivery.
- Direct day-to-day work with the external agency to ensure timely, high-quality campaign builds.
- Make copy or creative adjustments and build campaigns as needed to meet fast-moving deadlines.
- Drive A/B and multivariate testing to improve engagement and conversion.
- Partner with the Director of Email & SMS Marketing on lifecycle strategy and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate across brand, data, product, and marketing teams for integrated campaigns.
- Analyze results and share insights to guide future tactics and channel innovation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Works independently in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and driving projects without heavy oversight.
- 5+ years building and executing marketing campaigns, content, and automations, or equivalent experience.
- Deep expertise in Iterable for email, SMS, and app push, including segmentation, personalization, campaigns, and journeys.
- Solid grasp of responsive HTML/CSS for email; able to troubleshoot and edit code.
- Proven track record managing customer journeys (flows and triggers) and running A/B or multivariate tests.
- Naturally curious and improvement-focused—questions assumptions and acts on insights.
- Decisive and proactive; spots process or data gaps and implements solutions early.
- Owns projects end to end, from idea through build, QA, and performance analysis.
- Collaborates effectively across teams to keep work unblocked and aligned.
Nice to Haves
- Experience creating campaigns for other channels (paid social, search, etc.).
- Working knowledge of SQL for audience building and reporting.
- Familiarity with Intercom, Looker, Sendgrid, and Hightouch or another CDP.

The starting salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Wild Alaskan’s benefits package includes health, vision, and dental insurance, 401k, PTO, safe/sick time, vacation, parental leave and more, as well as a delicious box of free fish every month.
