About Us

Wild Alaskan Company’s mission is to accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems by fostering meaningful, interconnected relationships between human beings, wild seafood and the planet.

We deliver wild-caught, sustainable seafood to households across the United States. Powered by our custom-built eCommerce platform and three generations of history and expertise in the Alaskan fishing industry, we constantly strive to meet our promise of a top-notch product and experience. And we do it all in a fully-remote environment that is fast-paced, challenging, and fun.

GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION

You’re the type who doesn’t just think in terms of features, but in terms of outcomes. You play out business scenarios and quantify trade-offs: “If this build lifts engagement by 5%, can we deprioritize automation X?” You’re analytical and critical, but also decisive — knowing when to test and when to act.

Your colleagues rely on you not only to plan sprints, but to clearly articulate the business case, weigh alternatives, and ensure the team is always working on the highest-impact opportunities. The company depends on you to deliver experiences that get members cooking, increase engagement and boost retention.

Reporting to the EVP, you’ll be expected to bring a strong knack for mining opportunities, a nuance in shepherding prioritization, and a unique ability to wade through uncertainty.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate strategy into impact: Frame opportunities not just as features, but as hypotheses tied to retention, engagement and LTV. Spell out ROI scenarios (conservative, expected, aggressive) to support prioritization.
  • Run discovery and synthesis: Conduct any of the following depending on the scope of opportunity: user research, competitive analysis, and data deep-dives in collaboration with Data Science and Analytics to surface the “why” behind member behaviors — and communicate formulated opportunities clearly to cross-functional partners.
  • Drive prioritization: Lead the value vs. effort conversation. Collaborate closely with Product Design, Engineering, Product Marketing, Retention Marketing, Merchandising, Member Experience, and Data Science and Analytics. Clearly frame trade-offs and build alignment around what gets shipped now, what gets deferred, and why.
  • Shepherd execution: Participate in stand-ups, run cross-functional discovery and design sessions. Develop AI prototypes to accelerate alignment across functions. Ensure user stories are fully specified, acceptance criteria are sharp, and design/engineering debt is factored into planning. Drive the conversation on how to test high value, high lift, and potentially high downside ideas.
  • Measure outcomes: Define upfront success metrics for every feature and experiment. Post-launch, report results back in the language of business impact (e.g., “This change drove a 0.4% monthly reduction in churn, which could mean ~$xyz annualized LTV”).
  • Ensure cohesive member journey: Collaborate with UX, Engineering, and MX so that onboarding, engagement, and save experiences feel integrated and intentional.
  • Continuously improve process: Identify inefficiencies in product workflows and champion system-level improvements.
  • Mentor teammates and help set and reinforce best practices for the department
  • Other initiatives and duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 4+ years experience in product management, ideally in consumer subscription space.
  • Experience in mobile apps
  • Track record of running successful A/B tests, habit-forming product experiences and funnel optimizations.
  • Exceptional systems thinker
  • Proven ability to link feature delivery to retention, churn, or LTV impact — with examples of initiatives you’ve quantified post-launch.
  • Demonstrated strength in framing opportunities with ROI scenarios and building prioritization frameworks that drive clarity.
  • Strong analytical skills (SQL and Looker) with the ability to turn data into insight and insight into action.
  • Excellent communicator: able to present trade-offs and recommendations clearly to engineers, designers, and across all other functions.
  • Skilled in agile delivery, backlog management, and ensuring high team velocity without sacrificing quality.
  • Comfortable facilitating cross-functional workshops (e.g., design sprints, prioritization sessions) and driving toward consensus.
  • Has created AI prototypes
  • Comfortable with being uncomfortable

NICE TO HAVES

  • Previous PM stints with a recipe, learning and/or fitness app.
  • Background in UI/UX,  software engineering, and/or marketing.
  • Experience with membership-based businesses.
  • Involvement in a rapidly scaling startup
  • Love for wild-caught, sustainable seafood

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
