Pediatric Dentist
Location: Liberty (Salem) and Lents (Southeast Portland) Practices
Position Type: Full Time
Schedule: Rotating Schedule - A Weeks 4 days at Liberty Practice (40 hours), B Weeks 3 days at Lents Practice (30 hours)
Expected Hiring Range: $262,500 - $350,000 depending on production
Position Summary
The Pediatric Dentist supports Willamette Dental’s evidence based treatment philosophy, mission, vision and core values by diagnosing and treating diseases that develop in the gums, teeth, and jaw in infants, children and teenagers. The Pediatric Dentist provides varying levels of anesthesia, including local, nitrous oxide and general anesthesia in a hospital setting.
Education and Experience
Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and/or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), with a certificate or MSD in Pediatric Dentistry, Board certified or eligible. Successful completion of a post- doctoral residency program in area of specialty program and valid licensure in the specific state(s) where practicing.
Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
- Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with a certificate or MSD in Pediatric Dentistry, Board certified or eligible.
- DEA registration.
- Maintenance of BLS certification.
- Actively seeking or has achieved board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
- At a minimum, will maintain state board’s equivalent of a sedation permit.
- Will maintain appropriate certifications to support the provider’s anesthesia permit.
Knowledge of:
- Evidence based dental practices.
- AxiUm electronic records
- Fulfill all requirements to ensure proper electronic documentation for all care provided to patients.
- CAMBRA and PEMBRA, with an emphasis on prevention.
- Risk phases, and risk assessment.
- Diagnostic terms.
- Information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat and oral cavity anomalies.
- Principles and processes for providing customer and optimal patient experience. This includes patient needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of patient satisfaction.
Skill In:
- Performing anterior and premolar root canals
- Extracting erupted teeth; either routinely or surgically.
- Verbal and written communications.
Ability to:
- Utilize evidence based dentistry to recognize, prevent, intercept and correctly identify appropriate treatment.
- Operate a computer and a variety of software applications quickly and accurately.
- Physically and visually perform surgical tasks and all dental procedures.
- Communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.
Expected hiring range for this position depending on experience (annual salary):
$262,500 - $350,000 USD
Compensation
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible employees will accrue a minimum of 120 PTO hours per employment year in addition to seven paid holidays annually. The Company’s PTO program combines vacation and sick leave, which is more generous than Washington State’s Sick Leave Law. Employees in part-time roles working less than 40 hours per week will accrue PTO on a pro-rated basis.
Physical Requirements
The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
