Location and Flexibility

Our Senior Manager, AI Automation Strategy will be  integral to our Data & AI team. To help retain our deep culture of collaboration, this role will maintain an in-office presence in a hybrid capacity. This role can be located in Boston, MA, Columbus, OH, Charlottesville, VA, or Durham, NC.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Manager, AI Automation Strategy with consulting and technical architecture experience to lead and coordinate automation assessment engagements. This role focuses on identifying opportunities for RPA and agentic automation by deeply understanding client business processes, uncovering inefficiencies, and structuring clear, actionable findings.

You’ll manage the end-to-end assessment lifecycle - scoping engagements, coordinating stakeholder input, facilitating discovery sessions, and ensuring timelines and deliverables stay on track. A strong grasp of both operational workflows and emerging automation technologies is essential, as is the ability to translate business needs into strategic recommendations.

Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, confident stakeholder engagement, and the ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-moving consulting environments. You’ll work closely with clients to evaluate where automation can drive the most value—without owning implementation or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Assessments: Manage the full lifecycle of automation assessments, including intake, scoping, triage, and the development of tailored solution recommendations.
  • Business Process Mapping: Facilitate discovery sessions to document and analyze current-state business processes, identifying inefficiencies, manual pain points, and areas with high automation potential.
  • Opportunity Identification: Evaluate workflows to surface high-impact opportunities for RPA and agentic automation, aligned to business goals and operational constraints.
  • Project Setup & Tracking: Establish and maintain project plans for each assessment, ensuring clear scope, timelines, deliverables, and progress tracking.
  • Delivery Coordination: Liaise with delivery teams to support assessment handoff, kickoff planning, and initial tracking—ensuring continuity from strategy to execution.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and client stakeholders, facilitating alignment, surfacing risks, and enabling timely decisions.
  • Workload Prioritization: Manage incoming requests and support triage to prioritize opportunities based on business impact, feasibility, and team capacity.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with strategy, automation, and technical teams to align on assessment approaches, resource needs, and overall engagement success.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, consulting, or delivery roles, ideally within a technology, operations, or service environment
  • Strong project management capabilities, including developing project plans, tracking milestones, managing risks, and coordinating across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assessments or initiatives simultaneously with a structured, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex business processes and identify high-value automation opportunities
  • Demonstrated business acumen and comfort advising stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience engaging stakeholders and presenting to cross-functional or executive audiences
  • Familiarity with RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and a conceptual understanding of agentic AI technologies (e.g., AI agents, LLM-based automation)
  • Experience working with or supporting contact center environments—with an understanding of common workflows, systems, and automation use cases
  • A process improvement mindset with the ability to synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Comfortable working independently and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Experience collaborating across distributed teams and time zones using virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Slack, Jira, Confluence)

Bonus Points

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, telecom, public sector)
  • Exposure to AI governance or data privacy considerations
  • Working knowledge of service design or journey mapping
