The Position
This is an excellent opportunity for legal professionals seeking to expand their careers who are interested in gaining fast-paced professional experience with a national law firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting memorandum on various legal issues and cyber-related topics (including data breach and privacy laws)
- Project management of breach notice projects
- Manage documents and organize case files
- Working with third party vendors to supporting investigation of cyber incidents and notification
- Obtaining third party vendor pricing quotes and keeping track of vendor contracts and Statements of Work
- Docketing and keeping track of deadlines for notification, reporting, and responses to regulators
- Assisting with drafting breach notification letters to individuals and State/Federal Regulators
- Assisting with responding to State/Federal Regulatory investigations arising out of cyber claims, including document requests
- Preparing Table of Exhibits, bates labeling, working with Clients to gather and organize responsive documents
- Assisting with creating and tracking legal budgets
- Basic research and drafting memorandum on data breach and privacy laws
- Join fast-paced National Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice team
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies and a Paralegal Certificate
- 2+ years of paralegal experience in a fast paced environment
- Must be based in Chicago
- Hybrid work setup (in office 2-3x a week)
- Specific cyber knowledge is not required (training available)
- Research Skills (including Lexis and Westlaw)
- Must be a team player
- Experience with program management, preparing records, assembling exhibits and discoveries required
- Experience drafting and responding to standard and discovery demands (interrogatories, request to produce documents, etc.)
- Strong computer skills with proficiency to MS Office Suite and document management systems
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
- Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing
- Must be able to work independently and be proactive
- Experience with e-discovery and using Relativity or other document review platforms is a plus
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Pay Range
$60,000 - $70,000 USD
