This position is available in our Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Louisville, Miami, Milwaukee, and Orlando offices, with options for flexible hybrid or fully remote work arrangements.
The Position
We are seeking a Human Resources Business Manager to join our team in a regional role that provides strategic HR leadership and guidance across multiple offices. This position is a critical partner to Regional Managing Partners and Office Administrators, delivering solutions in employee relations, talent acquisition and development, change management, performance management, retention, and compensation. As a trusted advisor, this role bridges local office needs with firm-wide HR strategy – driving consistency, compliance, and a world-class employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute regional HR goals and initiatives that align with firm strategy.
- Collaborate with Regional Managing Partners and Office Administrators to ensure consistent application of HR policies and recommended improvements. .
- Provide expert counsel to leadership on employee relations, coaching, performance and organizational development.
- Lead and resolve complex employee relations matters, including investigations and documentation.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends address issues and recommend proactive solutions.
- Guide hiring managers on job descriptions and ensure alignment with internal framework.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Drive engagement and retention through relationship building, morale initiatives, and coaching.
- Identify training and development needs for attorneys and staff and coordinate solutions.
- Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle – from onboarding through development and retention.
- Partner with local leadership to align talent strategies with business goals and office needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 4 years in an HR Business Partner role.
- Strong working knowledge of core human resource functions including employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management, compensation and employment law.
- Proven experience supporting a multi-office and matrixed environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data to inform decisions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to assigned offices as needed (less than 10%).
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $150,000 USD
