The Position

Wilson Elser is currently seeking a Paralegal Supervisor to join a national team supporting a broad litigation portfolio. This role will supervise a Paralegal team that assists with investigations, collections, and the organization, and maintenance of discovery databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Paralegal will perform their work under the supervision of a Paralegal Manager and supervising attorney, but will have discretion and autonomy in performing the supervision of day-to-day tasks by their direct reports 
  • Supervise a team of direct reports consisting of paralegals dedicated to diverse client services tasks within the litigation portfolio with a focus on the discovery process. 
  • Closely and effectively collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders inside and outside the Firm
  • Liaise with trial and local counsel on litigated matters. Facilitate communication within matter teams to ensure the appropriate effort is expended on tasks.
  • Help ensure adherence with client outside counsel guidelines and team quality and assurance monitoring 
  • Supervise the daily execution of investigations and research into evidentiary data and case-related information
  • Supervise the maintenance and organize evidentiary data and case-related information pursuant to best records management practices across a wide array of case files and documentation
  • Assist paralegal team members execute litigation discovery requests, including assisting with discovery requests and document productions
  • Assist with project work assignments as needed and perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a Paralegal Certificate is a plus
  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior legal support staff or paralegal supervision experience required (including management of a team of multiple direct reports)
  • Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration in a fast-paced dynamic practice setting
  • Self-starter with strong bias for action and acute attention to detail, 
  • Ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple pending projects at once
  • Strong analytical and communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to exercise professionalism, integrity, and discretion with confidential and sensitive information is required
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems required 
  • Demonstrated ability to employ software at the power-user competence level is a plus 
  • Experience with Electronically Stored Information and document management systems, including computer-assisted review technologies, is a plus
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization a plus
  • Experience supporting large projects; working with many stakeholders is a plus

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.  This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. 

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $115,000 USD
