Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who can stand on their own two feet in terms of implementing software solutions and interpreting data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of where data is coming from and where it is going and will be able to think strategically about financial planning and analysis (FP&A). This role requires collaboration with our team to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
  • Provide technical support and advice on management accounting.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budgets according to schedule.
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Liaise with our Chief Financial Officer to improve financial procedures.
  • Implement and manage software solutions for accounting and financial reporting.
  • Interpret and analyze data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support the Finance and Accounting Function.
  • Support migrations from Quickbooks to mid market accounting software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
  • Awareness of business trends.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Ability to implement and manage software solutions.
  • Strong data interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
