Position Summary:

We are looking for a Litigation Attorney to join the Witherite Law Group Family. Someone with the experience and confidence to handle a case from complaint to trial. We keep caseloads low, and we provide excellent support from a team of 3 that are exclusive to you, as well as several other support staff that are shared among limited teams. We also have attorney mentors assigned to assist with the day to day. Attending training from the nation’s top advocacy groups is highly encouraged and paid for 100%. Key Responsibilities:
- Handle and manage Personal Injury files from file through trial
- Work up litigation files from filing the lawsuit, writing discovery and depositions, and trying the case
- Willingness and ability to regularly interact with clients, adjusters, staff and other lawyers
- Successfully lead a litigation team of 5 plus people
- Successfully lead a prelitigation team of 2-3
- Litigate a case from beginning to end
- Have good work ethic and present strong attention to detail
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
- Experience in supervising and managing other team members
- Admission to some or all Texas federal courts
- Pre-Litigation case management and negotiation experience
- Experience handling cases involving commercial motor vehicles
- Willing to expand trial skills and knowledge
- Willing to expand knowledge of trucking litigation and obtain board certification in truck accident law
- Willing to work independently yet be accountable
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school
- Current member of the Georgia Bar in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of Personal Injury litigation experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school
- Current member of the Texas Bar in good standing
- Trial experience preferred
- Commercial case experience a plus
- Experiencing litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
