Position Summary:
Witherite Law Group and associated companies seeks professionals who want to join a high-performing team committed to working together to accomplish our mission and uphold our values of People First, Unmatched Expertise, and Integrity Always. The primary responsibility of the Case Investigator is to discover the negligence of drivers, companies, and other leading factors, by conducting social media and background research in the investigations of personal injury claims. The Case Investigator will conduct key database and internet searches utilizing best practices abiding by company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quickly and correctly identify all parties involved in personal injury cases and their contact information.
- Perform investigative research on a number of company and business websites, federal, state and local government websites and safety regulatory websites.
- Perform investigative research on a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.
- Read, analyze, and distill large amounts of information from all sources and apply it to an investigation.
- Provide in-depth reports on background data and social media findings.
- Identify and notify all potential insurance carriers of the claim on behalf of our clients.
- Generate and mail letters of representation/correspondence to parties involved as required.
- Communicate with management and attorneys regarding investigative findings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding subjects under investigation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or any related field, a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and research skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills including a passion for finding links and correlation of potential negligence.
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and FileVine (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
