Position Summary:

The Mail Clerk is responsible for sorting, processing, and delivering various types of mail and packages within the office, ensuring efficient handling of all incoming and outgoing correspondence. This role involves processing regular USPS mail, checks, medical records, certified mail, and open records, as well as managing package shipments via UPS. The Mail Clerk will also be tasked with maintaining accurate records and ensuring all mail and documents are delivered to the appropriate recipients. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort/Process Regular USPS Mail
- Sort/Process Checks
- Sort/Process/Upload and Deliver Open Records to teams.
- Sort/Process Returned Mail and send to recipients.
- Sort/Process Medical Mail and send it to recipients.
- Ship and UPS Packages
- Sort/Process Certified Mail and send to recipients.
- Deliver physical mail to recipients.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of front desk and clerical experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of knowledge and experience with mail procedures and operating mail equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Needles (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person, and email.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
