Position Summary:
The Power BI Developer at Witherite Law Group will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making by developing and optimizing dashboards, reports, and KPIs. This position involves collaborating with the Director to structure and visualize large data sets, providing actionable insights to enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with the Director of Strategy and Analysis to build new dashboards and reports while optimizing existing reports.
- Establish KPIs to benchmark existing program performance and measure the effectiveness of new business decisions.
- Structure large data sets, create data visualizations, and extrapolate information that can be converted into actionable business recommendations.
- Strategically think through data flow, form a plan of action to troubleshoot any issues, and iterate on the plan as needed.
- Proficient in connecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
- Knowledge and experience with SQL and DAX queries/formulas.
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
- Adept in developing, publishing, and scheduling refresh of Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person, and email.
- Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking abilities.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study; business, analytics, economics, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience gathering and analyzing data.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI (or similar BI tool), Power Query, and PowerPoint.
- Analytically minded with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience as a Power BI developer, developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.
- Proven experience working with Power BI Gateways to connect to data/data warehouses directly.
- Knowledge and skills in tools such as SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc.
- Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.
- Knowledge and skills for integrating Power BI with SharePoint/Teams.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
