Position Summary: Witherite Law Group is seeking experienced and highly motivated Negotiators to join our dynamic legal team. Negotiators will manage a high-volume caseload of 75–100 cases, negotiating settlements with both first and third-party insurance carriers to maximize recovery for our clients. This role requires strong communication and analytical skills, as you will review medical records, maintain key relationships with adjusters and providers, and effectively address client concerns. In addition, you will lead the negotiations team in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals, contributing to the overall success of the firm’s recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage a case load of 75-100 cases negotiating toward settlement with various first party and third-party insurance carriers
- Maximize the liability recovery, uninsured/underinsured claims, and recovery of PIP funds
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with adjusters, medical providers, and in-house staff to effectively negotiate the best outcome for the client’s case
- Effectively communicate with clients, addressing questions and concerns related to their case
- Review medical records to understand the facts that impact the client’s case
- Successfully lead negotiations team to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals
Qualifications:
- Proficient in personal injury law involving motor vehicle accidents
- Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology related to personal injury
- Exceptional time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
- Experience working with case management tools; Needles software a plus
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a high-volume plaintiff’s personal injury law firm
- Sales or negotiations experience at a senior level with ability to adapt to legal environment
- Demonstrated capability leading a team with successful results
- Ability to work in a respectful manner with internal team, clients, and outside parties
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person, and email
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
