Position Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end sourcing activities across a diverse portfolio of categories, with a strong emphasis on Information Technology (hardware, software, SaaS, cloud services, professional services, managed services, etc.). This role will also manage strategic sourcing initiatives for categories such as Facilities, Office Supplies, Professional Services, Talent Acquisition, and Corporate Services. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with excellent skills in leading RFx initiatives, negotiation skills, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships that drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Sourcing Focus

- Lead sourcing strategies for IT-related categories including infrastructure, networking, hardware, software licensing, SaaS, cloud, and managed services.
- Assist with contract negotiations
- Collaborate with IT, Vendor Manager, Leadership and Stakeholders to explore opportunities and initiate vendor consolidation measures, RFx initiatives and cost optimization efforts.

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for non-IT categories including Facilities (maintenance, equipment, janitorial), Office Supplies, Professional Services (legal, consulting, marketing), and Talent Acquisition (recruiters, job boards, HR tech).
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and identify sourcing opportunities.
- Conduct competitive bids (RFx), manage contract lifecycle, and implement cost-saving initiatives across all assigned categories.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Exceptional ability to draft and structure comprehensive RFx documentation (RFI, RFP, RFQ) to ensure clarity and alignment with organizational requirements, risk thresholds, and compliance standards.
- Proven success leading end-to-end RFx processes, including stakeholder alignment, supplier communications, bid evaluations, scoring methodologies, and executive presentations.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with strong emphasis on Information Technology and other spend categories.
- Proven ability to conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments to evaluate long-term supplier value and cost drivers across procurement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and presenting ROI analyses and business cases that support sourcing recommendations and investment decisions.
- Strong capability in assessing current state of initiatives, identifying inefficiencies, and defining future state goals to bridge capability gaps as it relates to drafting RFx.
- Skilled in requirements gathering from cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., IT, Legal, Finance, HR, Facilities) to translate business needs into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Experience conducting external benchmarking to evaluate supplier performance, pricing competitiveness, and sourcing trends to inform negotiation and sourcing strategy.
- Ability to independently initiate, negotiate and manage NDAs during early vendor engagement to expedite sourcing activities while protecting confidential information.
- Skilled in conducting initial reviews and redlines of MSAs and SOWs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and company risk policies prior to legal or contract administration review.
- Demonstrated capability to interpret contractual language and collaborate with Legal, Vendor Management and Contract Administrator to negotiate terms effectively.
- Comfortable serving as a backup to the Contract Administrator, providing support with contract intake, redlining contracts, and internal tracking during high-volume periods or absences.
- Familiarity with legal contract structures and ability to escalate issues appropriately while maintaining momentum in the sourcing process.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, or related field. MBA or CPSM a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement.
- Strong expertise in IT sourcing and procurement practices.
- Proven experience managing spend across multiple categories.
- Strong contract negotiation skills and experience
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
