Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Co-Litigation Manager to oversee our legal team and ensure efficient and effective operation of our litigation department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of litigation processes and procedures. This role requires someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities, foster a collaborative work environment, and drive results through effective management and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the litigation team, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Make recommendations regarding additional training, oversight, or other needed support for the department.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and training as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.
- Oversee the management of all litigation cases from inception to resolution, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and client expectations.
- Develop and implement case management strategies and best practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor case progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies, prepare for hearings and trials, and manage discovery processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing litigation practice.
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures to mitigate legal and financial risk for the firm and its clients.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, developments, and best practices related to litigation management and incorporate them into department operations.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the department and individual team members.
- Participate in interviewing and making hiring recommendations.
- Working knowledge of personal injury law involving motor vehicle collisions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behavior.
- Timecard management for the Atlanta Litigation employees.
- Assess and make recommendations of personnel termination, when needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person and email
- Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Case Management software
Education Requirements:
- College degree or comparable paralegal certification and experience
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
