Content Marketing Coordinator and Media Relations

As a Content Marketer, you will report to and work closely with the firm’s Director of Communications to coordinate and execute on content creation and strategy and collaborate with go-to-market marketing professionals and their SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). You will collaborate with the Digital Marketing Team to understand performance metrics to help drive engagement and growth and strategize with marketing teams on content distribution across marketing technology platforms. Content quality and brand consistency are paramount to ensure a cohesive voice while optimizing content for search engines. You will be a key contributor to firm content creation, development and review of marketing campaigns and thought leadership.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

Content Coordination and Creation

  • Working with the Director of Communications on executing a content strategy that aligns with marketing and business goals
  • Content Creation:
    • Creating and editing high-value content across various platforms, including websites, blogs, social media, proposals and email campaigns that drives engagement, supports go-to-market strategies and builds brand awareness
    • Partnering with the design team to produce high-quality short to medium form content, including multimedia
    • Utilizing AI writing tools to support content creation, research and strategy
  • Campaign Development:
    • Collaborating with the industry marketers, digital marketing team and the firm’s SMEs to brainstorm, plan, develop, review and execute content marketing campaigns and deliverables
  • Data-driven Optimization:
    • Collaborating with the digital marketing team on keyword research and use SEO best practices to create and optimize content
    • Monitoring and analyzing content performance metrics with the digital marketing team and Director of Communications to refine strategies and improve engagement
  • Content Management:
    • Creating and populating industry editorial calendars with niche marketers, providing topic ideas
    • Coordinating inbound content publication requests, providing guidance and feedback to ensure consistent quality and tone
    • Assisting in safeguarding content quality, brand tone of voice and style across the firm’s communication channels and materials
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Updating cross-functional marketing teams, i.e. industry marketers, communications, digital marketing, pursuit, and creative, with trending content to elevate the brand experience for target audiences
  • Always Learning:
    • Staying up to date with industry trends, competitors, and emerging content marketing best practices
    • Contributing to the on-going development of the firm’s writing and digital content style guides

Media Relations

  • Acting as the Firm liaison for media inquiries and Withum’s SMEs
  • Building and managing relationships with editors at industry-specific, regional, national and international centers of influence and the accounting profession as a whole
  • Assisting in maintaining the database of press and media contacts within the media monitoring and distribution tool

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field
  • Familiarity with AI writing tools (e.g., Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity.ai, Claude.ai, Grammarly etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in content marketing, marketing communications, news media or related field
  • Ability to use storytelling to engage readers
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-digest thoughts
  • Creative, innovative and strategic mindset
  • An eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent command of grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Effective time and project management, prioritization and organization
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications. New York City ranges are from $50,000 - $60,000 annually
