Withum's Forensic and Valuation Services practice pride themselves in understanding their clients’ business strategy and needs; assisting companies in meeting business requirements related to valuation, risk management, transfer pricing, economic analysis, and model validation. We are currently seeking a Senior Manager to join Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group.

The Senior Manager can be based out of any of our California Office Locations (San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Orange County, CA; San Francisco, CA; San Ramon, CA).

The Senior Manager will work on a variety of assignments, including taking substantial responsibility of overseeing and performing equity valuations or complex security valuations (stock options, warrants, convertible debt, other complex securities/derivatives, etc.) for financial reporting, tax compliance, transaction advisory, and other purposes. The engagements will be performed for mostly medium-sized businesses to large multinational corporations. The Senior Manager should demonstrate the ability to provide excellent client service and assist the growth of team members in developing technical skills and professional competency.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Overseeing valuation analyses for tax, financial reporting, and advisory purposes (enterprise values, stock options, warrants, convertible debt, equity allocations across complex capital structures, and other complex securities/derivatives) primarily in Excel
  • Implementing and improving processes in performing valuations and writing and preparing of reports, letters, and other client deliverables
  • Assisting in review of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes
  • Assisting in the development, maintenance, application of models using Excel and VBA for Monte Carlo, lattices, or other complex methods as requested
  • Reviewing and gaining a sufficient understanding of the necessary tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysis

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or similar quantitative discipline
  • 8+ years of performing business valuations is required
  • Demonstrated experience of training, mentoring, and developing staff
  • Experienced or interested in business development 
  • In-depth understanding of valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing
  • Experience in valuation of complex financial instruments is strongly preferred
  • Valuation related certification including ASA, CVA, ABV, or CFA
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Capital IQ preferred
  • Ability to program in VBA and/or other statistical package a plus
  • Capacity to work independently on projects
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications. California/Washington State ranges are from $160,000 - $200,000 annually
