About Wizard

Wizard is the top-performing AI Shopping Agent, delivering the best products from across the web with unmatched accuracy, quality, and trust.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for building and evolving Wizard’s core platform services and integrations.

This role sits at the intersection of client integrations, backend services, and platform reliability. You’ll help design and implement the APIs and systems that connect merchants, ecommerce platforms, and external partners into Wizard’s agentic commerce stack.

You’ll work primarily in Node.js / TypeScript, with exposure to frontend surfaces where needed, and collaborate closely with product, data, AI/ML and client application teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain platform services and APIs that support merchant integrations and external partners.
  • Design and implement integrations with ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) and other commerce systems.
  • Write clean, readable, and extensible code in Node.js and TypeScript for backend services and APIs.
  • Experience working integrating external APIs at scale.
  • Contribute to select frontend or admin interfaces (React) that support platform functionality and operations.
  • Participate in technical design discussions: scoping solutions, identifying tradeoffs, and breaking work into deliverable units.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and group problem-solving.
  • Improve system reliability, observability, and performance across platform services.
  • Help evolve Wizard’s integration architecture as we scale to more partners and higher traffic.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and development practices.

What Success Looks like

  • Owning meaningful components of the platform end to end, and platform services and integrations that you own are stable and scalable under growing traffic
  • Independently designing and implementing reliable and scalable integrations with external partners
  • Merchant and partner integrations are easier to build, extend and maintain
  • You raise the technical bar through thoughtful design, strong code reviews and clear documentation and your code meets high standards for readability, testability and maintainability
  • You act as a trusted platform engineer and balance speed, quality and long term system health

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4-6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or maintaining Shopify apps or ecommerce platform integrations.
  • Strong experience building server side applications in Node.js / TypeScript.
  • Experience writing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Comfortable working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) datastores.
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture, system design, and service boundaries.
  • Comfortable collaborating in a team environment and explaining technical decisions clearly.
  • Experience integrating with third-party platforms or external APIs.
  • Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows (PRs, CI, code review.)
  • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc) at least at an integration level.
  • Experience working in an environment with sensitive user data or compliance regulations (PCI, SOCS2, HIPPA, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role will vary based on skills, experience, role level, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined by considering these factors alongside overall role scope and responsibilities.

In addition to base salary, Wizard offers:

  • Equity in the form of stock options
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • Flexible PTO and company holidays
  • Fully remote work within the United States

Wizard is committed to fair, transparent, and competitive compensation practices.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
