Role background

We launched our service in Germany in August 2020 and have, for the past years, seen rapid development in the market. We are now working with several thousand partners across all Germany and expanding further into new cities, regions, and business verticals. 

To support our hyper-growth and strengthen our team, we seek a driven and experienced Senior Operations Analyst - Pricing & Efficiency to help our Germany Operations Team continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our delivery operations by working on courier pricing and optimize the delivery setup. The role is a full-time position and you will report directly to the Country Manager-  Pricing and Efficiency.

You will be responsible for enhancing platform efficiency and optimizing courier pricing models in the complex German market. Your work will directly impact task efficiency, pricing strategies, and courier supply-demand balance - key elements that define the success of our operations,  impacting Wolt's growth and profitability. 

This role is at the intersection of data analysis, business strategy, and solutions execution driving improvements in delivery economics and operational efficiency. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with teams as Finance, Product, and Global operations.

What you'll be doing

You will be driving and managing projects independently and able to communicate and report results cross-functionally. Main responsibilities should be:

  • Developing and managing new pricing structures for different fleet types,  while balancing financial targets, delivery quality and ensuring competitive incentives for couriers.
  • Coordinates and drives the implementation of new pricing structures, requiring strong communication and negotiation skills to align stakeholders and overcome challenges.
  • Key role in driving logistics efficiency: identifying opportunities to improve task allocation and fulfillment, ensuring our cities operate as efficiently as possible while maximizing delivery experience.
  • Designs experiments, analyzes outcomes, and communicates findings to Global teams, contributing to algorithm enhancements.
  • Adapting and implementing global initiatives in the German market 
  • Maintains a strong interest in and comprehensive knowledge of all market dynamics, ensuring that responsibilities align with and adapt to business changes.

Our humble expectations

  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferably in (i) pricing and/or incentives in a comparable industry, (ii) strategy & operations in a top tier tech/platform company or (iii) management consulting
  • Analytical skills: you’ll work with data every single day. Spreadsheet mastery, SQL & Looker (or similar BI tools)  is a must-have, and you’ll often find Python useful. While we’re not expecting you to be an expert, you’ll benefit from having an elementary understanding of experimentation, causal inference, predictive modeling and optimization so that you can collaborate effectively with Data Scientists
  • Strong business acumen: our team is in the business of solving hard problems and developing new solutions. There’s rarely a handbook that we can refer to. Hence, you need to be ingenious and relentless at solving hairy business problems, not just in the abstract but also on the lowest level of detail
  • Effectively structures and communicates key results and business recommendations to drive operational improvements 
  • People & project management skills: you’ll need to be able to inspire and persuade colleagues from a broad spectrum of backgrounds in a cross-team setting and get them to work towards one goal in a coordinated, collaborative and efficient manner
  • Passion for efficiency and process optimization - you thrive on making things work better, faster, and more effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
