Wolt is looking for a Workplace Safety Manager to join part-time  our team in Almaty. In this role  you will be responsible for building and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for our employees, driving workplace safety initiatives and partnering with teams across the office and operations.

What you’ll be doing

Day-to-day in this role you’ll:

  • Ensure full compliance with local health & safety laws and internal Wolt standards.
  • Act as the HSE lead across all Wolt Kazakhstan locations — including offices (Almaty and Astana), dark stores and operational areas.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, SOPs, and internal instructions tailored to the local context.
  • Prepare and maintain all required HSE documentation: instructions, protocols, inspection logs, registers, etc.
  • Conduct biweekly HSE inductions for all new hires, perform workplace risk assessments and environmental checks, and proactively identify hazards along with corresponding corrective actions.
  • Handle incident investigation and reporting, including root cause analysis and preventive action plans.
  • Coordinate mandatory trainings, safety briefings, and onboarding sessions for employees and contractors (if needed).
  • Organize and support certification of workplaces, ventilation measurements, noise levels, lighting, etc.
  • Cooperate with local labor inspectors and regulatory authorities.
  • Oversee PPE management, first aid kits, emergency equipment, evacuation planning, and fire drills.
  • Track changes in HSE legislation and communicate key updates internally.
  • Support cross-functional teams with workspace set-up reviews, compliance audits, and launch of new locations.
  • Ensuring departments are supplied with safety signage, instructional materials, and awareness boards.
  • Keeping the team up to date with newly introduced safety regulations and ensuring all documentation is stored and managed properly.

Our humble expectations* 

  • Higher education in a relevant field
  • Valid health & safety certificates
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace safety management
  • Strong knowledge of Kazakhstan labor safety regulations) fire safety, evacuation procedures and PPE requirements). 
  • Experience working directly with government labor and fire inspection bodies.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills
  • Proactive and self-driven - able to own the function solo. 
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken), Russian and Kazakh
