The role you are looking at is part of Wolt Market — our own grocery stores that deliver an exceptional customer experience with fast and reliable grocery delivery.

Reporting to the Category Manager, the Category Specialist is responsible for supporting category performance by managing assortment, pricing, promotions, and supplier relationships across assigned categories in Kazakhstan. The role focuses on ensuring the right products are available at the right price while delivering a great customer experience and supporting business growth.

The Category Specialist works closely with the Category Manager, Operations, Supply Chain, Content, Marketing, Finance, and supplier partners to ensure strong commercial execution and continuous improvement of category performance.

You'll receive guidance and support from experienced colleagues while taking ownership of your daily responsibilities and contributing to the commercial success of Wolt Market Kazakhstan.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day performance of assigned categories through analysis, reporting, and commercial execution.
  • Monitoring sales, profitability, assortment performance, and key business KPIs.
  • Supporting assortment planning and continuously improving the product selection based on customer needs and business performance.
  • Coordinating pricing updates and promotional activities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Supporting supplier negotiations and identifying opportunities to improve commercial terms.
  • Working cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Content, Marketing, and Finance to ensure successful execution of category initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.
  • Using data to identify growth opportunities and support business decisions.

Our humble expectations

  • 1–3 years of experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising, Retail, FMCG, or E-commerce.
  • Experience working with suppliers and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into actions.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional English and Russian. Kazakh is a plus.
  • Experience in grocery retail or e-commerce is considered an advantage.
