Account Managers are responsible for daily management of surety client needs and overall service of new and existing business. Account Managers act as ambassadors both internally and externally to WS, commanding a high degree of technical knowledge and the ability to speak confidently about the markets and coverages with Account Executives and clients. Account Managers work closely with the Account Executive to drive strategy and ensure the process is moving along smoothly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for assigned book of business of appropriate mix of revenue and complexity
2. Stay up to date with bond forms and market trends affecting assigned book of business, demonstrating ability to clearly communicate these details with clients
3. Responsible for coordinating with Account Executives; ability to work directly with a Producer, when necessary
4. Effectively manage multiple clients in accordance with surety practice service requirements and best practices in order to sustain client retention
5. Support annual surety review process, reviewing bond summary reports, activity levels and specific client needs
6. Demonstrate ability to build positive relationships with clients, carriers and team members
7. Review contracts, bond forms and other related legal documents and effectively explain and clarify details with client verbally and/or in writing
PROFESSIONAL:
1. Establish and maintain professional verbal and written communication with clients and colleagues.
2. Establish and communicate workflow expectations; demonstrate ability to proactively overcome barriers and be persistent in finding acceptable solutions.
3. Serve as a technical resource to team members on procedures and complex issues; assist less experienced staff when handling difficult or intimidating situations or struggling to build relationships.
4. Continue to actively build depth and breadth of industry knowledge.
5. Participate fully as a team member; provide backup to designated team members and actively contribute to establishing and meeting team goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of three years of industry experience.
2. College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
4. Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Excellent analytical, negotiation and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and shift focus as priorities change.
6. Fire & Casualty license required upon hire or within 3 months of obtaining position.
7. Ability to travel as necessary.
