Please note that this is a full-time (40h/week), 6-month long, paid internship for graduated students.

About the position

Working on our most successful free-to-play narrative title, you will help to ensure that our players are inspired to enjoy the game on a deeper level through active participation in online and real-world communities.

During your time at Wooga, you will get a first-hand look at what goes on behind the scenes of operating a highly successful game, as well as the community that both guides and supports it. Using your creative and organizational aptitude, you will play an active role in developing new content and initiatives to support fan groups.

In addition, you will receive real-world experience dealing with an engaged community including personally addressing inquiries and shaping messages to assist our players.

You will be working with a team of Community Managers, Marketing Managers, Designers, and Producers who will make sure you get the ideal foundation for going on to a thriving career in social media content development and community management.

What you will be doing

  • Working closely with Community Managers to develop and publish new content based on player understanding and sentiment measurement.
  • Support player events and manage reward delivery and communication.
  • Write visual briefs and copy that can be transformed into beautiful and engaging posts and/or videos.
  • Edit, resize, and organize a content database for fan engagement.
  • Promptly engage with the community by addressing comments and developing communication strategies.
  • Participate in multi-channel campaigns by developing content that coordinates with other teams within the marketing department and the game teams.
  • Experience the exciting world of video game marketing with a successful and thriving community.

Who we are looking for

  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in design, marketing, or communication.
  • You are able to dedicate 40 hours per week for the next 6 months.
  • Love and passion for games (ideally casual or even better Hidden Object games!). We want to find someone interested in working in games and game marketing.
  • Experience in a diverse team and show an aptitude for learning.
  • Be well-organized with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize. We work on multiple projects at once, so time management is essential.
  • Experience with Photoshop or other image editing software.
  • Relevant and professional content creation skills for big-picture thinking
  • Excellent operational execution for day-to-day tasks that require detailed execution
  • Fluent English language skills are required. Bonus points for writing capabilities.

Let us know what makes you tick! Please include answers to these questions when you apply.

  • Why does Community Management appeal to you?
  • Why do you want to work at Wooga?
  • What’s the last game you played?

As English is our office language, no German language skills are required. But we’ll help you learn if you want to!

Please note: Research has shown that some under-represented groups in the gaming industry (eg: women) tend to apply only if they meet every single requirement. Here at Wooga, the desire to learn and the willingness to solve problems are more important to us than your experience on paper. We encourage you to apply even if you do not think that you tick all the boxes - thinking outside of such boxes and embracing the diversity of mindsets and backgrounds is what we believe makes our teams thrive.

At Wooga we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who works here or with us, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion (or lack thereof) and game preferences. Be yourself, we like you that way!
