Position Overview:
Woolpert is hiring a Fleet Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and utilization of the company’s vehicle fleet. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, manages fleet systems and technologies, and supports operational continuity through proactive asset management. This position is based in Denver, CO and will report to the Director of Operations (or equivalent leadership role).
We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country where the job is located.
What you will do:
Fleet Operations Management:
- Track fleet utilization and work toward building a fleet enterprise GIS to monitor individual asset usage.
- Ensure new vehicle registrations and license plates are delivered to drivers promptly to avoid operational disruptions.
- Proactively track registration renewals to maintain compliance.
- Monitor and reduce underutilized fleet vehicles.
Fuel & Upfitting Management:
- Procure and deliver fleet fuel cards, ensuring timely distribution to staff.
- Ensure fleet upfitting tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain upfitting package details and educate leadership on specifications and changes.
Technology & Systems:
- Persistently maintain the Geotab portal to ensure accuracy with correct driver assignments.
- Ensure Geotab systems are operational and fully utilized.
- Leverage telematics, ELDs, and analytics for performance monitoring.
- Use automated systems for IFTA reporting, maintenance scheduling, and compliance tracking.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with DOT and other transportation regulations.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits and accident investigations.
- Train drivers on risk management and emergency procedures.
Driver Management:
- Monitor and improve driver behavior (e.g., harsh braking, speeding).
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and safety training.
- Assist with driver recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) and other transport regulations.
Financial & Cost Control:
- Analyze operational costs and identify savings opportunities.
- Manage fuel efficiency programs and negotiate vendor contracts.
- Prepare and monitor fleet budgets.
Communication & Reporting:
- Maintain clear communication with drivers, leadership, and clients.
- Provide regular performance and cost reports to senior management.
- Develop KPIs beyond utilization, such as fuel efficiency and maintenance compliance.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience with fleet management.
- Strong understanding of fleet operations and asset management.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and telematics systems.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- 100% Geotab system usage across all fleet vehicles.
- Target of 75% vehicle utilization rate.
- Timely delivery of fuel cards, registrations, and license plates.
- Accuracy and completeness of Geotab portal data.
- Compliance rate with safety and regulatory standards.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Pay Range
$78,400 - $130,700 USD
