Bermello Ajamil, a Woolpert Company (BA) is hiring a Senior Planner to join its innovative Ports & Maritime team in our Coral Gables, Florida office.
BA is internationally recognized as a leading firm in the planning and design of waterfront developments for cities, port authorities, and cruise lines. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in architecture, urban planning, urban design and landscape architecture, with experience in port operations.
We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.
What You Will Do as Senior Port Planner:
- Lead complex planning initiatives in waterfront environments such as ports, cruise terminals, and island destinations.
- Develop strategic master plans tailored to client needs.
- Engage with port authorities, cruise lines, and other stakeholders to align project goals.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, illustrative concept plans, and reports to clients and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and designers, to implement infrastructure solutions.
- Mentor and supervise junior planning staff.
- Manage project budgets and resources to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, engineering or landscape architecture
- 7 - 10 years of experience in port master planning or similar large-scale urban design projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite Products.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to create site programs and impactful graphic visuals
- Familiarity with port operations, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of urban planning principles and methodologies.
- Experience in master planning for various port types, including cargo, cruise, and industrial facilities.
- Skilled in research, data collection, and translating insights into actionable plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, officials, and community stakeholders.
- Creative problem-solving and facilitation skills, especially in workshop settings.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Pay Range
$112,960 - $169,440 USD
