Seeking an exciting opportunity to launch or grow your career? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Join us for an internship experience that offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment alongside ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. At this time, we are seeking multiple Transportation Engineering Interns in our Ohio (Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland) offices for Fall 2026 (Aug-Dec 2026). This internship will be a full-time position working 40 hours a week.
The Transportation Engineering Intern will work alongside the Woolpert infrastructure teams working on a variety of projects across the Transportation spectrum including projects in traffic, roadway and pedestrian facilities, bridges and structures and transportation planning. Work can include several disciplines across a variety of clients and project types. All these projects directly impact the communities where we live and work.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

What you will do:

  • Work as part of the industry leading Transportation team.
  • Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside Licensed Engineers that are experts in their fields.
  • Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as analysis, design, plan production and cost estimation.
  • Use industry leading applications such as Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer, alongside discipline specific programs that aid in design.
  • Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
  • Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.

  • Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status
  • Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree or civil adjacent degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional multitasking and time management skills
  • Be ready and open to learning!
  • Be located in Ohio near one of our offices or be willing to relocate at your own expense as this position requires at least 2 days/week of in office time.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
