Position Overview:

Woolpert is hiring an Architectural Team Leader to provide day‑to‑day technical and people leadership for a small team of architectural professionals while continuing to contribute directly to project delivery. This role is responsible for guiding team performance, reinforcing quality standards, and supporting the successful execution of architectural projects. The Architectural Team Leader works alongside team members as a practicing professional, while also serving as a key point of coordination between the team and discipline leadership. Position will be a Hybrid role working from the Coral Gables, Florida office.

What You Will Do:

Technical & Project Leadership

  • Perform architectural design and technical work while providing oversight of team deliverables
  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert, supporting project teams and architectural practice needs
  • Review architectural documents and deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards
  • Support and reinforce QA/QC processes and architectural best practices
  • Assist with technical problem‑solving and resolution of issues impacting project objectives
  • Support proposal development, including scope definition, staffing input, and fee support as needed
  • Contribute to client coordination and support business development efforts aligned with the strategic business plan
  • Track and communicate plan‑versus‑actual performance related to scope, schedule, and workload

People & Team Leadership

  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and motivation to architectural team members
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful team environment that supports professional growth
  • Support workload planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure effective use of team resources
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting skill development and career progression
  • Participate in interviewing and onboarding of new team members
  • Address team concerns and performance issues, escalating as appropriate
  • Support performance management activities, including goal setting, development planning, and feedback, in partnership with discipline leadership and Human Resources
  • Recognize and reinforce strong performance and team contributions

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Minimum of six (6) years of professional architectural experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressive leadership or team coordination experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional architectural licensure or active progress toward licensure
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • LEED accreditation or other sustainability credentials.
  • Advanced proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit), 3D modeling, and visualization tools.
  • Fluency in industry‑standard design and presentation tools sufficient to oversee, review, and guide team output
  • Familiarity with emerging design technologies, parametric design tools, or evolving digital workflows 

Travel:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%, depending on practice and project needs
  • Final travel expectations established annually with the manager 

Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • Visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range

$118,200 - $147,800 USD
