As a Senior Solutions Architect at Backbase, you are at the forefront of our most strategic engagements—designing complex, future-proof architectures for enterprise prospects and customers. This role is equal parts technical visionary, strategic advisor, and customer advocate. You’ll shape transformational digital solutions using Backbase’s cutting-edge software platform, guiding stakeholders from initial exploration through solution realization.
Meet the job:
As a trusted advisor, your mission is to define and architect the prospect’s desired end-state, ensuring alignment between their digital ambitions and Backbase’s capabilities. You’ll be a key player in both pre-sales and post-sale activities—leading discovery sessions, solution design workshops, proof-of-concepts, and executive presentations.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead the solution architecture and technical strategy throughout the sales cycle and early implementation;
● Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to understand customer needs, current-state architecture, and strategic goals;
● Design scalable, high-performance solutions that align with customer objectives and Backbase’s product capabilities;
● Deliver compelling presentations, architecture documentation, and high-impact demos that clearly communicate value;
● Partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to ensure successful solution delivery;
● Act as a thought leader in digital transformation, offering guidance on best practices, trends, and innovations;
● Contribute to the development of architectural frameworks, reusable assets, and knowledge sharing across global teams.
Who are you?
As a future SSA at Backbase, we think you’ll need:
● Extensive experience in backend development, with a proven track record of architecting backend strategies and defining best practices;
● Solid knowledge of Java, Spring, Docker, Maven, Kubernetes and Helm is a must;
● In-depth technical expertise in backend architecture, quality assurance, and performance optimization, with a focus on meeting high standards of quality, security, and accessibility;
● Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by the ability to coordinate change management efforts, resolve technical issues, and maintain product consistency across teams;
● Proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration, including experience working with professional management and product development teams to ensure the successful implementation of backend projects and product;
● Exceptional communication and client engagement skills, including experience in gathering and implementing client feedback to drive improvement initiatives;
● Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, including experience in recruitment, talent management, and fostering collaboration within a technical guild or similar structure.
