
Head of Growth Services (EMEA)
Role summary
Backbase is pioneering a new outcome-driven growth service, powered by our Customer Lifetime Orchestrator (CLO), designed to dramatically increase product holdings and deepen customer relationships through intelligent, data-driven orchestration and AI.
We’re looking for a senior operator to own the P&L and build a hub-and-spoke Growth Ops organisation that runs 90-day pilots, proves uplift with rigorous measurement, and converts successes into long-term revenue-share and managed contracts.
You will design and productize playbooks (activation, expansion, retention), lead client-facing Growth Leads and campaign teams, publish measurement protocols, and negotiate outcome-based commercial terms with enterprise banks. You’ll partner with Product, Sales and Legal to operationalize scale (automation, runbooks, billing) and present monthly performance to bank executives. Aim: rapid pilots, repeatable playbooks, and a profitable services P&L.
You have 10+ years in growth, revenue ops, or managed services leadership (fintech, bank, or growth-stage SaaS), a proven track record with outcome-based or revenue-share models, and strong experience in experimental design and uplift measurement. You’re a confident negotiator with C-suite presence and a builder who can hire and scale teams.
Primary objectives (first 12 months)
- Launch, run and scale engagement with at least 10 large and mid-sized banks in year 1;
- Build and retain a high-performing team (growth leads, campaign managers, data & measurement, automation engineers);
- Build and scale the supporting operating model: designing and productizing scalable growth playbooks, often leveraging CLO's advanced orchestration capabilities, Analytics & Experimentation, Automation, Measurement, Commercial Ops;
- Own commercial terms and measurement protocol for outcome-based pricing, including legal & audit guardrails.
Key responsibilities
- P&L ownership for Growth Services including pricing, margins, hiring and GTM in close collaboration with the Backbase Sales and Customer success teams;
- Design and operationalize the 90-day pilot playbook and standardize handoffs to banks’ internal teams;
- Negotiate and close managed-outcome / revenue-share agreements with enterprise banks;
- Ensure airtight measurement: randomized holdouts, attribution windows, audit clauses, and transparent reporting;
- Partner with Product, Sales, Legal, Security and Customer Success to ensure safe, compliant, and scalable delivery;
- Create repeatable playbooks, train bank teams, and publish internal case studies and benchmarks.
Must-have experience & skills
- 10+ years in growth, revenue operations, or operations leadership at fintech, bank or growth-stage SaaS;
- Proven track record scaling managed services or outcome-driven revenue models (revenue share / success fees);
- Strong understanding of data-driven experimentation, uplift modeling, and measurement design;
- Commercial credibility: experience negotiating with C-suite of banks or large financial services customers;
- Team-building experience: building cross-functional teams (analytics, automation, campaign ops);
- Excellent communicator with executive presence; able to lead client executive reviews.
Compensation & level
- SVP level - competitive base + bonuses tied to revenue and pilot success. Equity based on performance.
