Senior AI Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer (Android) within our central Engineering Ops group, you will shape and modernize the Android development experience across R&D. You will operate as a domain expert, defining and driving engineering standards, migrating release infrastructure, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate mobile delivery.

Rather than working inside a single isolated feature squad, you will drive foundational changes—such as unifying release pipelines and establishing multi-module library standards—that directly impact the daily workflows of over 600 engineers.

Role Responsibilities

• Drive Platform Engineering & Release Synchronization: Migrate mobile CI/CD pipelines from Bitrise to GitHub Actions, integrate Android releases into shared Champagne release workflows, and synchronize deployment chains with backend and frontend teams.
• Define Golden Standards: Design scalable multi-module architectures, SDK/framework integrations, and reusable design system components. Establish rigorous standards for accessibility (a11y), security, and runtime performance.
• Leverage AI Acceleration: Integrate LLM-assisted workflows, AI coding tools, and automated testing utilities into everyday engineering tasks to boost delivery speed and efficiency.
• Enable R&D Adoption: Partner directly with pilot teams and cross-functional stakeholders to guide, test, and drive the seamless adoption of new SDLC practices.

Required Qualifications

• Android Architecture & Depth: Expert-level mastery of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, modern architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI), Coroutines, and Flow. Demonstrated experience architecting multi-module libraries and SDKs.
• Modern CI/CD & Testing Infrastructure: Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Strong commitment to test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, and UI automation (JUnit, Mockito, Espresso).
• Pragmatic AI Application: Practical familiarity with AI development tools, efficient prompt crafting, and choosing the right model architectures to optimize mobile engineering workflows.
• Systems Mindset & Leadership: Proven track record of evaluating how platform changes ripple across teams. Ability to articulate technical direction clearly and guide senior peers through adoption.
