Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Solutions Architect to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible to:

  • Deep Competitive Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth technical and functional analysis of competitor integration and automation platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Oracle Middleware, IBM, TIBCO, etc.), identifying strengths, weaknesses, unique selling propositions, and architectural nuances.

    • Perform hands-on technical evaluations, build proof-of-concepts, and simulate complex use cases to accurately assess competitive capabilities and limitations.

    • Monitor market trends, new product releases, and competitive movements within the integration, automation, and AI/Agentic spaces.

    • Develop detailed competitive battlecards, whitepapers, and enablement materials for internal teams (Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Marketing) to articulate Workato's differentiation and competitive advantages.

    • Present competitive findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, product management, and sales teams.

  • Strategic Insights & Enablement:

    • Translate competitive technical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and business audiences.

    • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to influence product roadmap decisions based on competitive insights and market gaps.

    • Partner with Marketing to develop competitive messaging and positioning for external communications.

    • Provide expert guidance and support to the Sales and Solutions Engineering teams in competitive deal cycles, acting as a subject matter expert on competitor platforms.

  • Architecture & Enablement Strategy Support (within Customer Success):

    • Assist the Architecture & Enablement Strategy teams with project management and coordination activities for key strategic initiatives.

    • Define and refine project plans for critical programs within Customer Success, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.

    • Support coordination with multiple cross-functional teams across Workato to ensure seamless execution of customer success initiatives.

    • Support the definition and operationalization of advanced enablement programs, such as the Black Belt program and teams, leveraging competitive insights to shape their content and focus areas.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in a solutions architecture, technical presales, product management, or competitive intelligence role within the enterprise software/SaaS industry.

  • Demonstrable hands-on expertise and deep architectural understanding of integration platforms, specifically with significant experience in Boomi (e.g., Boomi Flow, AtomSphere, MDH, API Management).

  • Strong understanding of other major iPaaS/integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Oracle Middleware, IBM, TIBCO, SAP PI/PO) and their respective architectural paradigms (e.g., stateless vs. stateful engines, on-prem vs. cloud-native).

  • Experience with various automation technologies beyond integration (e.g., RPA, BPM, low-code platforms) is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.

  • Solid understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, API management, data governance, and security best practices.

  • Experience with competitive analysis frameworks and tools is a plus.

For California applicants, the pay for this role begins at $165,000 plus variable, benefits, perks and equity.
