Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Strategic Advisor to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible to: 

  • Participate as a strategic advisor in services engagements

  • Help define and shape Workato Advisory Services by creating reusable content in advance of and during advisory services engagements

  • Participate in defining and advancing Workato frameworks, such as Workato’s GEARS and Workato’s Embedded Product Guide

  • Be a Workato evangelist with the ability to discover and demonstrate how Workato can effectively help companies with their business automation needs across a broad set of industries through professional services engagements

  • Through advisory services engagements, you will:

    • Lead customer constituencies in critical functions (and in the context of Workato) such as: best practices, enterprise architecture target state or rationalization, Workato suitability guidance for use cases, advanced prototyping, accelerating recipe implementation, and Workato Accelerators to name a few. 

    • Develop and contribute subject matter expertise and advisory deliverables to internal best practices and Solution repository

    • Align with key customer stakeholders (management to C-level executives) to create advisory roadmap to advance customer automation objectives

    • Apply Workato’s GEARS methodology to direct customer environments; Alternatively, apply Workato’s Embedded Product Guide methodology to embedded customer environments

    • Coach key customer stakeholders (management to C-level executives) on security and governance best practices as it relates to the Workato platform

    • Advise on recipe lifecycle management best practices, and potentially implement technology and/or process to support the recipe lifecycle management

    • Guide customers on integration prioritization techniques, including reusability considerations

  • Become the trusted advisor to customers and partners from an overall solution, architecture, implementation, and governance perspective for the Workato platform.

  • Contribute to the growth of our professional services department by creating or enhancing content such as presentations, demos, white papers, best practices, architecture patterns, and online courses for use by both customers and to enable our extended team

  • Lead, mentor, and train team members from the extended pre-sales and post-sales teams to enable them with content and knowledge

  • Contribute to content creation for materials to coach our partner ecosystem on Workato delivery best practices

  • Participate in both pre and post-sales activities with direct end customers and partners

  • Be a Workato evangelist with the ability to discover and demonstrate how Workato can effectively help companies with their business automation needs across a broad set of industries

  • Develop content such as presentations, demos, white papers, best practices, solution packs, architecture patterns, and online courses for use by both customers and to enable our extended team.

  • Conduct hands-on customer training, design sessions, complex issue resolution, and product support

  • Lead, mentor, and train team members from the extended CS team and sales team to enable them with content and knowledge.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or in a related field. Bachelor’s degrees and those with non-traditional but similar proven experience may also apply.

  • 12+ years of technology transformation consulting experience, including implementation experience with one or more common integration or middleware solutions and/or API Management Solutions 

  • 5+ years experience as an Enterprise Architect and/or digital architect (or similar role) 

  • Ability to evangelize best practices at various levels within a large organization 

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders (C-level executives to engineering teams) with compelling Points of View. 

  • Able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience and engage in meaningful Q&A with customers 

  • Understanding of security and governance needs in large enterprises

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas visually and create professional presentations

  • Track record of continuous learning of new technologies, as well as leading projects that push the capabilities of existing technologies.

  • Track record of driving software expansions as a result of professional services engagements

  • Be a self-starter and ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, and willingness to take ownership of situations and problems. 

  • Proven results leading and overseeing customer and/or partner success in the following domains: front-end and back-end solution architecture, enterprise architecture, development, and test/release management strategies, change management, and direct leadership in designing solutions that meet or exceed customer needs 

  • Guiding customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies that drive business value 

  • Travel to the client site up to 50%, but may be higher or lower based on prevailing circumstances

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

  • Preferred Master’s (but not required) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or in a related field. Bachelor’s degree and those with non-traditional but similar proven experiences may also apply. 

  • Knowledge of key applications such as Salesforce, Netsuite, Workday, ServiceNow, SAP, EBusiness Suite, Databases

  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • Experience having worked in a start-up environment

For New York applicants, the pay for this role may range between $150,000 - $180,000 base plus variable, benefits, perks, and equity.
