Responsibilities

Workato is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our Japan team as an Office Admin Intern / Contractor. This role will work closely with the leadership to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities, including office and administrative support, event logistics, and onboarding support.
You will play a key role in keeping the team organized and well-supported, while also assisting with community and external engagement efforts. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys getting things done, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating a seamless and positive experience for both internal teams and external guests.

Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, there will be opportunities to take on additional ownership, contribute to projects based on your interests and performance, and scope expansion. You will be encouraged to gain exposure to different areas of the business, and play a more active role in initiatives that align with Workato Japan’s direction and your strengths and curiosity.

[Minimum Commitment for Intern] 6-12 months internship

  • During school term, at least 15 hours per week (except around exam periods where lesser time allowed)
  • During school vacation, less than 30 hours per week (within Workato Business Hours, 9am-6pm)

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

  • Supporting day-to-day office operation

  • Supporting team rituals such as team meals and internal gatherings

  • Assisting with event and offsite logistics

  • Supporting new hire onboarding

  • Managing office-related requests (e.g. supplies, name cards)

  • Preparing simple materials and follow-ups for meetings

  • Supporting external engagements and community events as needed

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Interest and some experience in office administration, coordination, or operations (e.g. internal communications, people operations, project coordination)

  • Tech-savvy with working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides); familiarity with tools like Slack and Zoom is a plus

  • Able to come to office (Tokyo Station) at least 3 days per week

  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility

  • Comfortable handling ad hoc tasks and supporting activities outside of the office when required

  • Language Proficiency Requirement:

    • Native-level proficiency in English.

    • Spoken and written Japanese (Above N2 Level).

  • Organized with strong time management operator – detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
