Workplace Activity Data Collector (Project-Based)

Manila, Philippines

Workstream is a mission-driven company building the all-in-one HR, payroll, and hiring platform for managing the hourly workforce. There are 2.7 billion hourly workers, making up 80% of the global workforce, but this market has been heavily underserved by technology and deserves better. Workstream has been purpose-built for the hourly workforce from day one so that these businesses and their employees can thrive.

Our customers include leading brands from multiple sectors, including Burger King, Carl's Jr./Hardee's, IHOP, KFC, and Culvers. We are a high growth series B company and quickly expanding our product portfolio to deliver on our vision. We are backed by legendary VCs and industry experts like Founders Fund, BOND, and Coatue.

In addition to our core business, Workstream is home to a small, fast-moving Robotics team focused on advancing the next generation of artificial intelligence and robotics. We partner with a leading AI and robotics company to produce high-quality, large-scale egocentric (first-person) video datasets that help train advanced AI models.

What We Offer

This is a project-based independen contractor opportunity designed to provide supplemental income.

  • Earn USD $3.50 for every hour of approved video footage submitted.
  • Compensation is based on approved video submissions, not hours worked.
  • Videos are reviewed to ensure they meet Workstream's quality and project requirements before payment is approved.
  • Payment schedules and submission guidelines will be shared during onboarding.

Note: This opportunity is intended to complement your existing job or business. Contractors record authentic workplace activities as part of their normal work—not staged demonstrations—and are compensated only for footage accepted by Workstream.

About The Role

Workstream is collecting first-person video demonstrations of real-world physical tasks performed in commercial and workplace environments. These videos help develop and improve next-generation robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision, and automation technologies.

This is a project-based, independent contractor opportunity designed to provide supplemental income. Contractors record approved workplace activities using camera equipment provided by Workstream. Compensation is based on approved video submissions rather than hours worked.

As a Commercial Workplace Video Data Collector, you'll record first-person videos while performing your regular work in an approved commercial or business environment. These recordings help train and improve robotics and AI technologies by capturing authentic workplace activities.

What You'll Do

  • Record first-person videos while performing your normal work tasks.
  • Use the camera equipment provided by Workstream.
  • Follow recording, safety, and privacy guidelines.
  • Obtain approval from Workstream and permission from your workplace before recording.
  • Upload videos through Workstream's platform.
  • Maintain recording equipment and apply feedback to improve future submissions.

Examples of Tasks

You may record activities such as:

  • Operating tools or equipment
  • Organizing or restocking inventory
  • Picking, packing, assembling, or preparing items
  • Cleaning work areas or equipment
  • Moving or storing materials
  • Maintenance, repair, fabrication, or construction work
  • Warehouse, retail backroom, or commercial kitchen tasks
  • Other approved physical workplace activities

Approved Recording Locations

Recording is permitted only in approved commercial environments, including warehouses, workshops, retail stores, restaurants, commercial kitchens, construction sites, manufacturing facilities, offices with physical operations, and other business locations.

Residential homes are not permitted unless specifically approved by Workstream.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 18 years old
  • Currently working in or have access to an approved commercial workplace
  • Able to obtain permission from your workplace to record
  • Comfortable wearing a head-mounted camera
  • Able to follow instructions and quality standards
  • Reliable internet for uploading videos
  • Detail-oriented and responsive to feedback

Recording Requirements

Videos must:

  • Show a clear first-person perspective
  • Clearly capture your hands, tools, and work activities
  • Be stable, well-lit, and complete
  • Reflect natural, safe, and authorized work activities
  • Meet Workstream's quality and submission requirements

Important: All recording locations must be approved by Workstream, and workplace permission must be obtained before any recording begins. Only record tasks you are trained and authorized to perform.

Why Join This Project?

By participating, you'll help build real-world datasets that contribute to the development of advanced robotics and AI technologies used worldwide. Your everyday work activities can directly support the next generation of intelligent automation while providing an opportunity to earn additional income through approved video submissions.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
