Job Description:

We are seeking an Operations Coordinator for the pricing, design, execution and delivery of customized educational travel and study abroad programs in GreeceThis is a full-time position, intended to be a growth position, and works closely with the WorldStrides Athens Resident Director, students and their Professors, Vendors and Tour Directors. The contract will be 10 months in duration and can be extended and converted to a permanent position after the completion of this period.  The role is hybrid and specifically it includes office work 4 days per week and accompanying groups on the 5th day or WFH. The office is in Agia Paraskevi, Athens. The analogy 4 and 1 days is an overall average.  

Responsibilities:

The work may vary based on schedule, company requirements and students´ needs.   

  • To design, price, manage budgets, curate activities, and organize customized group travel within Greece
  • To conduct audits, to be responsive and effective and accurate in communicating, proactive and diligent, and to execute and finalize all travel arrangements, in set timelines and with thoroughness
  • To travel and escort University Student groups in March and May, with great attention to detail, enthusiasm about cross-cultural academic engagement, and ownership
  • To assist the Resident Director with managing the business in Greece, relationship building, and other business areas, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Great command of Greek language (native speaker) 
  • Great command of English language (level C2 or native – only applicants with C2 or native English speakers will be considered
  • Advanced or intermediate knowledge of MS outlook, Excel, and overall tech savvy
  • Great communication, operational logic, problem-solving skills
  • Energetic, flexible, outgoing, resilient, colorful personality, customer service oriented  
  • Emergency phone on a rotation 
  • Some Travel is required in March and May 
  • Some Saturday, or Sunday work is required and is compensated with time off or in monetary comp, as preferred 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in travel; for example - if you have worked in an operations or sales’ capacity in travel, with groups or FIT travelers, as a tour leader, in the cruise industry, as a travel designer.  
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for the American culture and education system 
  • Ability to work both independently, a self-starter, and within a team
  • Take initiative, be motivated, work effectively under stress, adaptable to change
  • Excellent customer service skills, common sense, risk assessment mindset 
  • Work ethics, positive attitude, solution oriented 
  • Always maintain professional attire and composure
  • BA (with preference in Tourism, but not restricted)
