Job Description:

The Internship Placement Coordinator is responsible for sourcing internship placements for program participants in [city/country] as well as providing student support on-site to both the student and the employer. Our Experiential Programs team believes in the lifechanging capacity of studying and interning abroad and embraces that statement with total enthusiasm.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and form new relationships with host employers
  • Manage relationships with third party placement providers
  • Deepen relations with existing partnerships and employers and work with the programs team to ensure high quality experiences
  • Update and utilize online student management software
  • Where possible, conduct site visits to employers with interns to assess the quality of the internship site
  • Make logistical arrangements and execute our on-site Bridging Cultures Orientation Programs for all internship participants
  • Work with the Resident Director to make logistical arrangements and host social activities, networking opportunities, and excursions for program participants
  • Assist students with integration into the local culture and provide students information and advice about opportunities for cultural enrichment
  • Remain on-call after regular office hours for students: act as an emergency point of contact for participants
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems with participants, employers or otherwise
  • Touch base with participants on a regular basis
  • Accompany students on excursions if need be. Some weekend travel is required.
  • Other projects related to other divisions as needed - to be discussed with Resident Director

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be able to lawfully accept employment in [country] at the time of the offer of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3 years sales, marketing, relationship development, or job recruitment experience
  • Prior experience living, working, studying abroad, or international travel highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Positive, helpful, and friendly attitude
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a seasonal work schedule
  • Extremely organized, detailed and systems-oriented
  • independent and highly self-motivated
  • A willingness to take on new tasks outside of the given job description
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks / Time management
