About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Global Tax Compliance Senior Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for managing our global tax compliance, reporting, and provision processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in US corporate and international tax compliance, particularly within the technology/Web 3 sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders in tax planning and execution, including outside tax advisors, Finance/Accounting, FP&A, Product, Legal, and HR to ensure proper risk assessment and development of tax planning strategies.
  • Tax Risk Management: Develop and execute a proactive system for managing tax risks.
  • Tax Operations: Establish a system that balances speed and accuracy for tax operations, providing clear guidance to leadership on outstanding issues and potential risks.
  • Income Tax Provision and Footnotes: Prepare income tax provisions and income tax footnotes for the financial statements.
  • Tax Compliance Requirements: Work with tax advisors (Big 4) to prepare all tax compliance requirements (i.e., corporate tax returns and VAT/GST returns).
  • Transfer Pricing: Support documentation of transfer pricing policies and inter-company accounting, and work with external service providers to develop transfer pricing documentation reports.
  • Cross-functional Engagement: Engage proactively with cross-functional and global teams to understand the tax impact of business operations and developments, including new products that could have any tax implications.
  • Legislation Monitoring: Monitor tax legislation updates and analyze their impacts.
  • Research: Conduct research on complex tax issues.
  • Permanent Establishment Risks: Manage and mitigate permanent establishment risks associated with international business operations.
  • Technology and Process Optimization: Lead tax technology and process optimization initiatives.
  • Special Projects: Manage other duties and special projects as assigned.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 5+ years of relevant tax experience in Big 4 and/or a public company, with hands-on US corporate and international tax compliance experience, preferably at a technology company. Experience in the crypto industry is a strong plus.
  • Track Record: Proven experience in building and managing efficient global tax compliance, reporting, and provision processes.
  • International Tax Issues: Extensive experience in international tax issues, including transfer pricing, equity compensation vehicles, and international income streams.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to distill complex tax issues into concise and easy-to- understand formats for leadership and non-finance/tax individuals.
  • Outsourced Services Management: Proven track record of managing outsourced services.
  • Audit Management: Ability to effectively manage tax notices and audits.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines, multiple
    projects, and responsibilities timely and effectively, with attention to detail.
  • Interest in Cryptocurrency: Curiosity and a genuine interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain industries.
  • Startup Environment: Willingness to grow in a startup environment with open- mindedness and adaptability.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with ERP (i.e., SAP S/4 Hana Public Cloud) experience.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH in San Francisco ranges from $150,000 - $200,000, plus a competitive long term incentive package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
