Portfolio and Treasury Services Manager (Night Shift)

The Role: WorldQuant is seeking a bright individual to join our Portfolio and Treasury Services team in Mumbai as an L1 Ops Shift Manager, managing the team’s L1 Operations during night shift. The ideal candidate would be someone who is self-driven, motivated and enjoys being immersed in the mechanics of the financial markets. The role will focus on the daily post trade operations and related activities. The candidate will oversee the support provided by a team of junior L1 operations analysts, which works closely with front office teams, as well as portfolio managers. They will serve as the first point of escalation for any outages and will triage daily BAU issues. Level 1 support will include:

1. Start-of-day checks prior to trading activation in each region
2. Managing exceptions and alerts triggered via standard operational workflows
3. Resolving trading outages quickly and ensuring minimum system downtime from an operations perspective
4. Liaison with other team leads and engage with stakeholders to refine the workflows
5. Reconciling WorldQuant’s trading activity globally and handle breaks with counterparties

The role will require flexibility to work night shifts.

What You’ll Bring:

• Degree in finance or other business-related discipline.
• Prior work experience of at least 10 years.
• Experience in managing a team of operations analysts, with direct supervision of their daily responsibilities.
• Ability to interact clearly with mid-level or senior stakeholders and escalate issues on time.
• Responsibility for meeting daily KPI targets, following up on KPI metric breaches and resolving governance issues.
• Reasonable proficiency in SQL and UNIX.
• Exposure to asset classes like Equity, Futures, FX and Derivatives
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Mature, thoughtful, with ability to operate in a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
