Job Summary:

The Worlds Summer Intern position offers college students (rising juniors and seniors) an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic startup environment. Interns will expand their knowledge and build experience in multiple disciplines, including computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and project management.

Position and Work Location:

This is a hybrid remote/in-office position. The Intern will be expected to meet with team members in Worlds' Plano, TX office for project kickoff and periodic collaboration. Otherwise, the Intern must be able to work effectively and accomplish assignments remotely. The internship duration is approximately mid-May through mid-August, with flexibility to accommodate the Intern’s school and personal vacation schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Worlds will collaborate with qualified intern candidates to define projects and responsibilities that align with the candidate’s career goals and relevant experience while contributing to Worlds' 2025 initiatives. Potential project areas include data analysis, automation, cybersecurity assessments, AI model validation, and digital twin simulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Coding and scripting – While this is not a development position, the Summer Intern will interact with Worlds’ engineering and development teams. Experience with basic automation scripts (Python, Ansible), SQL queries, and APIs (REST, GraphQL) is beneficial.
  • Analytics and statistics – Understanding how to model and analyze the physical world through mathematical and physics-based representation for digital twin applications. Strong Microsoft Excel experience, JSON formatting, and data analysis using commercial applications are valuable. Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Linux computing – Familiarity with the Linux CLI and automation of basic computer administration (imaging, updates, security configurations, performance analysis).

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a track record of improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with a high-paced work environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years completed in an Engineering curriculum, with a preference for Mechanical, Aerospace, Petroleum, Computer Science, or related applied engineering disciplines.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license.
