THE JOB.

We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Entertainment PR to join the growing PR organization at WORTHI.

Our Sr. Manager will be a strategic client communication lead with account management and team leadership experience. This person will be a proven and stellar communicator (written, verbal and presentation) and team player with excellent organizational skills. In this position, you will create, develop, manage, and execute campaigns and key priorities on behalf of our growing roster of clients in the entertainment sector. This candidate will be an insights-led storyteller who knows how to create and land impactful earned media that spark awareness, create “news” out of no news, inspire advocacy, and foster trust. 

The Senior Manager will be an innovative thinker and disruptor who has the ability to guide clients, internal teams and creative partners toward solutions resulting in impactful earned results. Sometimes, we’ll have exciting news to share with the world, and sometimes, we’ll need to create the news from scratch. this executive will need to be able to thrive in both worlds and have a scrappy mentality. An understanding of the role influencers and other key opinion leaders play in the PR space is critical, as is having an informed POV on the ever-changing media landscape.

There must be a willingness to get one's “hands dirty” and a natural passion and understanding of PR as a whole. This person will be a self-motivated team player who will be reliable, resourceful, open to growth, accountable and will operate with an open, “can do'' and strategic mindset.

This role requires someone with 5-6 years of active, entertainment PR experience (an emphasis on multicultural audiences a plus!) with an agency or in-house team.

Reporting directly to Senior Director, Entertainment PR, your duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Operate as main client liaison for designated client partners 
  • Develop and execute upon media strategies with oversight from leadership
  • Manage junior staff members
  • Support on-site events and facilitation in-market or where needed based on client activity and needs
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in the given category of our clients, and share those trends proactively with actionable ways to capitalize
  • Build and nurture relationships with relevant press and key opinion leaders on behalf of the agency and our roster of clients
  • Secure signature stories and top-tier coverage for clients
  • Participate in new business RFPs
  • Occasional travel, evening or weekend work may be needed based on client needs

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Result-oriented and client-focused with a passion for communications and public relations practice
  • Ability to proactively communicate well both verbally and in writing with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Good problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong presenter able to “read the room” and make a case for strategic recommendations
  • Consistent follow-through ability to traffic communication and ensure accuracy
  • A creative point of view, a “can-do” attitude and a “what’s next” mentality
  • Understands the social-first nature of PR and how the media landscape is continuing to evolve in the digital frontier inclusive of influencer engagement 
  • Strong experience in building thoughtful media relations strategies that go beyond block and tackle and obvious solutions
  • Strong media relationships with lifestyle, tech multicultural outlets and journalists
  • Creative, “big idea” person who strives for excellence. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively provide and receive feedback.

Pay Range: $95 -115K USD (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
