Position Overview:

The Patient Financial Liaison stands at the intersection of compassionate care and financial stewardship, serving as a trusted guide for families navigating the complexities of pediatric healthcare costs. By masterfully blending deep healthcare finance expertise with outstanding interpersonal skills, this role transforms potentially stressful financial conversations into empowering discussions about care accessibility.

As a key member of the finance team, you'll demystify insurance benefits, create personalized payment solutions, and ensure families can focus on their child's therapeutic journey without financial uncertainty. Your ability to translate complex insurance terms into clear explanations and develop creative payment strategies will make therapeutic care more accessible while supporting Woven Care’s financial health.

Essential Functions:

Financial Navigation & Advocacy (40%)

  • Guide families through insurance benefits, coverage options, and financial obligations with clarity and empathy
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility across speech, occupational, and physical therapy services
  • Develop and implement customized payment plans that balance family needs with practice sustainability
  • Process Single Case Agreements for out-of-network care and initiate Good Faith Estimates
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, including Tricare/Medicaid requirements

Patient Support & Communication (30%)

  • Conduct thorough financial consultations to explain therapy costs and coverage options
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all patient financial matters
  • Provide proactive updates on benefit changes and authorization status
  • Navigate sensitive financial discussions with professionalism and understanding
  • Support families in understanding and maximizing their insurance benefits

Revenue Cycle Management (30%)

  • Update patient cost share information and complete Estimated Patient Responsibility Forms
  • Collaborate with the billing department to optimize revenue collection
  • Generate and analyze reports on authorization status and patient balances
  • Maintain precise documentation of all financial interactions
  • Recommend and process patient balance adjustments as appropriate

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years in healthcare finance, insurance verification, or related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical insurance, including private insurance, Medicaid, and Tricare
  • Proven track record of excellence in customer service
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing practices and medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatric healthcare settings
  • Proficiency in Raintree practice management software
  • Working knowledge of therapy CPT codes
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
