WPP is on a global transformation journey, and this is an opportunity for a Treasury Manager to join the team to support with respect to front office operations and processes, treasury system efficiencies and ongoing centre of excellence targets driving our transformation.

 

What you'll be doing:

WPP is looking for an experienced Treasury Manager with a broad range of expertise to support Group Treasury. This role is uniquely balanced, focusing equally on Treasury front office activities, including trading and business partnering, and on Treasury systems (IT2).

This role would suit someone with extensive TMS implementation experience or a Systems manager in a comparable international treasury environment, with a specific interest in automation and efficiency of process, with controls and standardisation at the heart such TMS design.

The role also requires regular interaction with WPP’s Regional Treasurers, and their respective teams in UK, EMEA, USA, LATAM and APAC, leveraging knowledge in the ways of working with a centre of excellence lens to enhance current processes and optimise efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Treasury Systems (IT2):

  • Help set up a new Systems operating model around the regional teams and shared services.
  • Help develop a global roadmap for Treasury systems & automation.
  • Set up an improved in-house bank model for FX trading for WPP’s agencies from central execution to valuation reports for accounting.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury Shared Services team on developing new reporting from IT2 and ensuring all data is standardised.
  • Support the transformation and change management tasks necessary to align the new Treasury policy and RACM with IT2.
  • Support with the automation of FX & Interest rates. Knowledge of Bloomberg or similar is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Drive the onboarding of additional banks to IT2, managing the requirements and processes involved.
  • Focus on automation and efficiency of processes, with an emphasis on controls and standardisation in TMS design.

Treasury Front Office:

  • Conduct trading activities (largely FX) and develop business partnerships with WPP’s agencies.
  • Oversee and advise on cash pool management, funding, daily operational support and risk management for WPP’s Agencies.
  • Support the UK Treasurer on deliverables e.g. HQ payments, FX and cash extraction monitoring and reporting.
  • Lead banking RFPs to rationalise fragmented banking arrangements.
  • Execute cash extraction and centralisation targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Treasury Policy.

 

Who you'll be working with:

You will report into the UK Treasurer and work alongside other Regional Treasury Treasurers and a team of 30 located across the globe (7 countries) to optimise and drive the Treasury goals.

 

What you will need:

  • Experience in corporate Treasury or similar, ACT or MCT qualifications an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in operating within a large corporate organisation, responsible for FX and MM trading.
  • Subject matter expertise in Treasury systems, IT2 and Swift connectivity.
  • Experience with implementing and managing treasury systems.
