Why we're hiring:
We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Group Reporting team at our London headquarters, on a 3 month contract basis.
What you'll be doing:
As a vital part of our central finance function, you'll be at the heart of WPP's Group reporting function. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of areas, including:
- Lead the way in technical accounting: Dive deep into the world of lease accounting, share-based payments, financial instruments, associates, and more, ensuring WPP's financial statements are accurate and compliant with IFRS.
- M&A Excitement: WPP is an acquisitive company, and you'll be right in the thick of it, analysing due diligence reports, assessing intangible assets, and contributing to the financial integration of new acquisitions.
- Master the art of consolidation: Wrangle data from our global network of companies, navigating multiple currencies and jurisdictions to create a cohesive financial picture.
- Drive process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance our reporting processes, making us more efficient and effective.
- Influence senior leadership: Prepare critical financial information for senior management, providing insights and analysis that drive key decisions.
- Be a compliance champion: Ensure adherence to WPP's accounting policies and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, safeguarding the integrity of our financial reporting.
What you'll need:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) with at least one year of post-qualification experience, preferably in a listed (ideally UK premium listed) environment.
- Experience navigating the complexities of large, multinational organisations.
- Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS.
- Sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with a thirst for learning and a passion for problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the WPP network.
- Advanced Excel skills.
