We are seeking a skilled and proactive Audio Visual (AV) Engineer to join our IT team. This role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of AV equipment within the WPP Dusseldorf Campus meeting rooms. As an AV Support Engineer, you will support a range of audio-visual needs for meetings, conferences, and events, providing technical assistance to users and performing regular maintenance. Occasional support at events outside regular business hours is expected, with compensatory time offered.
What you'll be doing:
- Act as the primary point of contact for AV support in meeting rooms within the Amsteldok building.
- Assist users in setting up and troubleshooting AV equipment during meetings and events, ensuring a smooth user experience.
- Provide hands-on support with AV hardware and software, including video conferencing systems, projectors, microphones, and speakers.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure all AV equipment is functioning optimally.
- Perform diagnostics and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment, coordinating with the IT team for repairs, replacements, and upgrades as necessary.
- Provide on-site AV support for both internal as well as external events, which may occasionally fall outside regular working hours.
- Collaborate with the facilities and IT teams to understand AV requirements and offer setup assistance for live or hybrid events.
- Document common issues, resolutions, and improvements for future reference.
- Generate regular reports on the performance and health of AV equipment to assist with proactive support and planning.
What you'll need:
- Proven experience with AV systems, including video conferencing (emphasis on Microsoft Teams) and AV control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with an ability to diagnose and resolve AV issues under pressure.
- Knowledge of networking systems and event supporting hardware (lighting, DJ booths, etc).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively guide non-technical users in utilizing AV equipment.
- A customer-service mindset with a professional approach to supporting internal clients.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple support requests and tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining an organized and efficient AV environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites, such as Eindhoven, for AV support as needed.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours for event support when required (with compensatory hours).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Audio-Visual Technology) or equivalent experience.
- Certification in AV systems or related fields (e.g., CTS, CTS-I).
- Prior experience in a corporate environment supporting AV in meeting rooms or events.
