The GroupM IT team in WPP IT are the technology solutions partner for the GroupM group of agencies and are accountable for co-ordinating and assuring end-to-end change delivery, managing the GroupM IT technology life-cycle and innovation pipeline.
This role will work as part of the Local Systems Team, working as a software developer primarily for one of our key applications for our agencies. It will be responsible for developing enhancements to the current media system, providing support for improvements captured in the backlog and driven by the business. A part of the job consists of working with the business, supporting the gathering of requirements, and working with the wider team to translate complex technical requirements into effective and concise requirements. You will play a crucial role in the development support team, leading them through the bi-weekly planning. Divide tasks amongst other team members and assisting them where needed.
What you'll be doing:
- Analysis & Implementation
- Design, develop and maintain business solutions for our media applications using C# and Angular technologies.
- Work with the team throughout the implementation process of new requirements, through to delivery.
- Advise on best practices, create support guide documents.
- Help Project teams define, build/configure and enhance the platform to high standards.
- Develop a thorough understanding of user demands, usability, and functional issues
- Become an expert end user of the applications within the programme. Develop in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of the functionality available, championing the platform.
- Testing & Documentation
- Actively participate in the evaluation and testing of new releases.
- Provide support for new releases.
What you'll need:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fullstack application development.
- Backend:
- Experience with C# and .NET frameworks. Knowledge of microservices and message
- queues (such as RabbitMQ, Azure Message Bus, etc.) is desirable.
- Strong experience in Web Services (SOAP, REST). Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Frontend:
- Experience with Angular. Knowledge of NgRx, RxJs, and experience with microfrontend architecture is advantageous.
- Experience developing Microsoft Office Add-ins (MS Excel). Knowledge of Office.js API. Proficiency in Microsoft Office development ecosystem.
- Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization. Kubernetes experience is beneficial.
- Cloud Services: Knowledge of Azure cloud technologies, including app services, functions, service bus, and application insights, is beneficial.
- Database: Experience working with MS SQL, including database design, optimization, and management.
- Unit Testing: Experience with unit testing frameworks and tools (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, Jasmine, Karma).
- DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and automated testing.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
